Without food, water and oxygen, we could not survive. The digestive system is the set of organs which transform whatever we eat into substances that can be used in the body for energy, growth and repair. Massage encourages better digestion and the absorption and digestion of food or nutrients. It does so by improving the circulation, therefore speeding up the delivery of nutrients to the body. It also speeds up the removal of waste and increases the flow of blood to the liver. By improving muscle function it also helps strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and assists with the wave like movements which help push through the contents of the intestines. This will help prevent constipation and flatulence.
